The Northwest Fire District and Washington Township signed an agreement on November 20, 2018 that will bring full time 24/7 fire service by the Northwest Fire District, with multiple locations to the unincorporated area of Washington Township’s 6,000 residents and commercial buildings.
Beginning January 1st, 2024, the residents, as well as the commercial properties in the unincorporated area of the Township, receive 24/7 fire service by the Northwest Fire District and the Fort Wayne Fire Department covers areas that are located in the city limits.
